Stop Global Warming

TREES FOR TRAVELLERS I have started a planting programme where WWOOFERS, HELP-Xers, friends, family and visitors can voluntarily purchase and plant a tree with the aim of offsetting their carbon emissions. This can be for international or domestic travel. You get to label a post for your tree, a photo and journal entry go into a logbook and onto this blog. I promise to look after your tree. Rusty

TT025 Our Christmas tree

Christmas is a joyful time of family and friends, but also of travel.

So our Christmas tree is to mitigate CO2 of those who travel to join us for Christmas.
It is not a native but a "ribinia"-one of the last decorative trees I wanted for the garden. Who could resist such a beautiful yellow. It can grow into quite a sizable tree

Thanks for the gift, Fiona.

ps I was only 1 tree short of 25 so I skipped a number to call this tree TT025. Serendipitous don't you think. Tree TT024 was actually planted by Yoshi today. Our "New Year" tree.

I hope my kowhai will grow healthily.
One day I will come back to see my big KOWHAI! (bigger than me)
Thank you for lovely memory.

TT016 Nikki

Thank you for giving me a small part of your land to plant a little tree that I hope one day will grow into a tall tree.

by Nikki

Editor's note:
Nikki is involved in Australia in a beach dunes revegetation project. Every fortnight she is out helping to plant 100 or so trees. Keep it up Nikki!

TT011-015 in a row

Peace to all who hold hands for the betterment of the eath.

5 together

This might take some beating!

5 trees planted by 5 different people of 3 nationalities on the same day.

TT015

I plant this tree with the hope that it will live for more than 7 generations- and see a day of peace and respect for the earth and it's inhabitants-plant and animal (even humans).

May the kindness and community we found here in our short visit live on with this tree and grow up and out with it.

I hope to return one day to see this tree strong and beautiful and green-just like New Zealand and the world.

Thanks for the kind hospitality.

"Welcome to your new home my little tree" and may you never want for anything and always bring joy to the people and animals who breathe your air and rest in your shade. Boundless gratitude to Rusty, Wal, Ami and Shannah for the beautiful memories and generous hospitality. It was so wonderful to meet you and all the people who were drawn to your home at the same time as us.

"May the Devas live in your gardens"

I'm planting this tree in memory of my good friend Dave. Also to celebrate the wonderful memories of sharing with Rusty, Wal, Ami and Shannah in the building of "Earthwood" their home. I have enjoyed laughter, good people and "great food" here. I wish the family all the best in the future.

Dieser Baum wurde fuer Rusty, Wal Ami und Shannah gepflanzt in Erinnerung an Ruth aus Deutschland. Thank you for all.

Doch wachsen und gedeihen.
Liegt nicht in unserer Hand!!

TT011
